Blue Print Rally 2008 21/04/2008

After several weeks, and many, many hours of hard work (mostly by ADL's Marketing Controller, Rob Head), we are proud to release the first pictures of the official ADL car for the 2008 Blue Print Rally. Nicknamed Elvis, the car, a 1990 Honda Legend, was purchased for a not too unreasonable sum of £202. As you can see from the pictures, the car has undergone a make-over! The looks are guaranteed to ensure we get maximum exposure during the 2000 mile rally to Portugal in May.
With the Team name “The Blues Print Brothers” the car has been designed to resemble the old Detroit police car from the 1980's film “The Blues Brothers”. Modifications included a complete re-spray, flashing roof lights, a CB radio with roof mounted PA speaker plus a nudge bar made from a piece of old air conditioning pipe with lagging. With the full range of Blue Print’s 19,000+ range of part numbers backing it up, getting parts to service the car was not a problem and the 18 year old engine (that has just turned 100,000 miles) runs sweetly!
The car was moved this weekend from the garage in Marden to another location in Kent where it will gain it's finishing touches. 'Elvis' certainly attracted a lot of attention and got more than its fair share of looks, shouts and stares during the 25 mile journey to its temporary home.
Rob and his co-driver Stuart Harcourt will be dressing up as the aforementioned Blues Brothers, Jake and Elwood, for the event.
All bar a few light bits of work needed Elvis will be ready to roll come May 17th. Bring on the Rally!
